My brother, Carroll Smeltzer – Class of ’73, passed away on Tuesday September 2nd. He loved being an ISB Alumnus and enjoyed all the school reunions and class get-togethers.

Carroll Dean Smeltzer, 59, of Terre Haute passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 in Union Hospital. He was a local attorney having worked with the Vigo County Prosecutors Office for several years. Carroll was born May 31, 1955 in Davis, California to Dale G. Smeltzer and Patricia Hallmark Smeltzer. Survivors include his son, Dale Smeltzer of Indianapolis; his sister, Martha Boone and her husband, Kevin, of Portland, Oregon; and his niece and nephews, Brooke,Trevor, Brandon and Kyle.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Sally. Carroll was a graduate of the International School of Bangkok, received his bachelor’s degree from Indiana University and his Doctor of Jurisprudence from I.U.P.U.I. He was a member of the Indiana State Bar Association and enjoyed traveling to American Historical Sites and National Parks.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation which is scheduled for Saturday, September 6, 2014 from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street.
