Obituary of Jenis Calvin McMillan II


Late in the night of Sunday, April 14th, 2025, Jenis Calvin McMillan II, aged 71, peacefully passed away in his sleep.

Jen led a very happy, active life filled with family, friends, and many activities, such as golfing and gardening.

Jen is preceded in death by his father, Jenis and his mother, Agnes. He is survived by his wife, Caroline; their child, Stephanie; his sisters, Terri, Patricia, and Susan; as well as many cousins, nephews, and nieces. He was the proud Grandpa to two grandchildren.

It was Jen’s desire to be cremated and to have his urn laid to rest at Fairview Cemetery in Bastrop, Texas. A celebration of life will be held in his honor at a later date.

Andrea Christine Bell, a radiant light born on Christmas Eve in 1969, in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, has departed from us on April 23, 2025. Known as simply Andrea to her friends, family, and community in Russellville, Arkansas, she was a woman of immense warmth, resilience, and spirit, radiating love and compassion in everything she did, just as poet Maya Angelou once said, “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”


Andrea’s journey was a testament to her strength and determination. She faced life with courage, grace, and an unwavering spirit. Even after her divorce, her resiliency never faltered; she continued to be a beacon of hope and inspiration to those around her. Her smile could light up a room and her laughter was infectious. She embodied the words of Helen Keller, “Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, vision cleared, ambition inspired, and success achieved.”


She is lovingly remembered by her brother, Scott Bell. Andrea was preceded in death by her parents, Nova and Garnett Bell. Her radiant spirit will undoubtedly be missed yet, her impact and the memories she left behind will continue to inspire and encourage those who had the privilege of knowing her.


We encourage those who knew Andrea to share their memories and upload photos on her memorial page. The stories of her vibrant life, love, and enduring spirit will continue to inspire us all. As we remember Andrea, let us hold onto the words of Albert Pike, “What we have done for ourselves alone dies with us; what we have done for others and the world remains and is immortal.”

I have a sad news to share. Andrea Christine Bell who attended ISB 1981 ~ 1987 passed away yesterday. She was 55 years old.

She has been undergoing treatment for breast cancer and almost beat it but died of heart attack, according to her longtime friend from teenage years in Arkansas. Thanks to all those who took time to write to her last year. Thank you for helping brighten her last days (her friend’s words). I’ll share her obituary here once it’s posted online.

Dr. Swan was raised in a military family and traveled throughout the world including going to school in Thailand, Lebanon, Germany, and then completed his Bachelors in Primatology at Ohio State University in 1974. Dr. Swan graduated from A.T. Still University, Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1981 after an additional three years fellowship in Osteopathic Principles and Practice. He completed a general internship at Doctors Hospital in Columbus, Ohio and then three years of Obstetrics and Gynecological residency at Southeastern Medical Center in North Miami Beach and at Philadelphia Osteopathic Hospital.


Dr. Swan was involved in teaching Osteopathy throughout the country, to medical students, residents and other physicians since 1978. He lectured with the Sutherland Cranial Teaching Foundation and with the Cranial Academy for many years. He was a part of developing the Percussion course with Dr. Robert Fulford, D.O.. He studied Biodynamics and was a good friend and colleague of James Jealous, D.O.


Dr. Swan also completed the three year physicians course of Medical Acupuncture at UCLA and additionally trained in the Balance Method with Richard Te Fu Tan D.O.M. He often used Traditional Osteopathy with Balance Method acupuncture, as he found it very synergistic with patients, and allowed resolution of complex cases.

Dr. Swan traveled throughout the world, exploring many cultures, good food, music, and even crossed the Sahara on camelback. He was in the rock band Blue Cheer in Haight-Ashbury, San Francisco in 1967, the Summer of Love. He played flamingo guitar, electric bass and saxophone. He was a true audiophile! Dr. Swan loved historic artifacts, reading, learning, and American football, especially Ohio State. He rode his motorcycle across the country to his varied medical school rotations, and even spent a night sleeping out in South Dakota, surrounded by a herd of wild buffalo. Dr. Swan had three beautiful children, and spent over twenty five wonderful years with his work and life partner Sharon Ann Stanley, D.O.. Dr Swan’s presence is felt here at Bellingham Osteopathic Center, and his memory continues to inspire us all.

Louise Mary Ring Nichols passed peaceful at her home of natural causes.

After finishing college she chose a career in the mortgage business and followed that path her entire life.

She married William Nichols. They had one child and one grandchild whom she loved dearly.

Louise is survived by her daughter, son-in-law, grandson and her four younger siblings.

This is Linda Baer. I left ISB in 1971 for a year in NY. My graduation date would have been 1972.

My brother Scott Baer, graduated ISB in 1971 and died in 2021. I wanted to add his memorial to the ISB Network. He was in your class.

After ISB graduation, Scott went to college in Michigan, where he met his wife Colleen. He lived and worked in the Chicago area for many years, before moving to Punta Gorda, Florida where he worked, and then retired. Scott continued to play tennis from his days on the ISB Tennis Team, and ran 9 marathons, including twice in Chicago. He remained a baseball fan and treasured his days coaching Little League in Bangkok. He died in 2021 from a combination of leukemia and melanoma at age 69.

I have attached two photos; not sure if you can use them. One is of Scott and Colleen at Scott’s retirement in 2017, and the other is me and Scott in 1970 at Asoke Bowl during an after-school bowling league.

This is Steve Cates; I know word has spread of this catastrophic event. The month of February Cinde dealt with the double whammy of Covid and Flu. Then an aggressive esophageal procedure that had a poor outcome. I am certain this physical stress contributed to the factors of her heart failure. She failed to recover this time. Cinde cheated the grim reaper many times. This time the Lord stepped in and called her home. I know this loss will impact so many in our community. Few people failed to feel her embrace. May God’s grace bring us solace in this time of loss.

Timothy “Tim” Michael O’Donnell Obituary

Timothy Michael O’Donnell, 66, of Annandale, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 11, 2025. Born on July 18, 1958, in Washington, D.C., he was the beloved son of the late William Aloysius and Florence Lillian O’Donnell.

A 1976 graduate of the International School of Bangkok, Tim began his 32-year career with Chesapeake and Potomac telephone company, through its evolution to Bell Atlantic, and finally to Verizon. His work included provisioning and maintaining designed circuits. He worked with a group that provisioned, maintained, and designed analog circuits. He was part of the first group of technicians to work with fiber optic circuits in the Washington metropolitan region. He retired in 2012.

Tim drew strength and joy from the things he loved most—family, friends, the outdoors, sports (HTTR!), and music. His favorite places were the Sunset Grille and JVs for music, Donnie’s shed for sports, and Captain Ruth’s boat on the Chesapeake Bay.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa Davies O’Donnell, his children, Kristen A. Miller and Timothy M. O’Donnell, Jr. (Brady), and stepdaughter Diana M. Winter (Efe), grandchildren, Lilly, Ethan, Timothy III, and Seamus, siblings, William A. O’Donnell (Janet), Patricia A. Barto (Joe), John J. O’Donnell (Dana), and Christopher T. O’Donnell (Jen), nieces and nephews, Joey Barto (Jennifer), Tommy Barto (Vy), Ryan O’Donnell (Laura), Michael O’Donnell (Melissa), Kevin Barto (Bethany), Danny Barto (Nicoli), Meghan O’Donnell, Erin Quillen (Zach), and Keenan O’Donnell, great nieces and nephews, Faith O’Donnell, William Barto, Emma Barto, Owen O’Donnell, Hope Barto, Olivia Barto, Natalie O’Donnell, William Quillen, and Finn O’Donnell, and adopted siblings and niece, Esta Biney, Albert Kwesi Wilson, and Maame Brew-Wilson.

Life is best when your friends become your family. God truly blessed us with Rudy and Denise Guerin.

Thank you, Esta Biney, Albert Kwesi Wilson, Jane McKenna, and Dr. Les Gavora, for providing Tim with exceptional medical care. More importantly, thank you for the genuine human connections you forged with Tim and our family, which comforted us during challenging times and made an immeasurable difference in our journey. Your kindness, expertise, and humanity will remain in our memories forever. We are eternally grateful.

Tim is preceded in death by his parents, his “brosin” Mike Guerra, his “mother” and matriarch of St. Michael Catholic School, Mrs. Phyllis Cribbin, and the best dogs—Chester, Merry Bailey, and Cassady.

Tim O’Donnell’s legacy is his family and friends. He fought with unwavering determination because he wanted to be there for the people he loved. This was his reason for pushing forward, trying one more treatment, and getting up each morning with a purpose. During his 6-year journey with cancer, he never stopped planning for the future or living life to its fullest.

Every person who ever met Tim had a “Tim” story – usually not what they did together but how Tim made them feel. Tim was our best friend, yet we had no idea who Tim’s best friend was because he made everyone feel valued and important. Even in the worst of times, every interaction with Tim included, at some point, two simple words – “Thank you.” On behalf of everyone, we thank you, Tim, for giving us some of you and leaving us slightly better than you found us.

A visitation will be held at Murphy’s Funeral Home, 1102 W Broad St, Falls Church, VA 22046, on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

The funeral will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 5121 Woodland Way, Annandale, VA 22003, on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at 11:00 AM.

Memorial contributions may be made to Queen Anne’s County Waterman’s Association, 108 Spruce Drive, Queen Anne, MD 21657.
