Donna Louise Mossler, 60, a long time resident of Lake
Oswego, Oregon, died at home on Friday, March 9, 2012 after a valiant five
year battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born April 6, 1951 in Tokyo,
Japan, the daughter of John and Ramona (Sullivan) Mossler. Her father’s
career in the U.S. State Department gave her the opportunity to see much
of the globe, ranging from Thailand to Ethiopia, and attending schools in
Africa and Southeast Asia during her high school years. She
returned to the U.S. to attend college, graduating with a bachelor’s
degree in business from the University of Oregon in 1972. After
graduation, she pursued a career as a marketing executive in the computer
industry, retiring from Intel. Donna thrived on being surrounded by her
family, her legions of friends and reigning as “Queen of Mahjong."
Her extraordinary loving, giving nature, her courage, strength, will power
and wit are everlasting. She is survived by her son, Zak Mossler
Bretherton, a freshman at Southern Oregon University; a sister, Diane
Mossler (Robert Archer), of Jefferson, Ohio; a brother, John Mossler, of
Port Charlotte, Florida; cousins Dr. Jeffrey (Calise) Mossler, of Carmel,
Indiana and Mark Mossler (Barb) of Gainesville, Florida; aunts Gertrude
Mossler, of New Albany, Indiana, and Dolores Mossler, of Gainesville,
Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents, of Punta Gorda,
Florida. A celebration of her life will be held at Lake Oswego Country
Club, 20 Iron Mountain Blvd. Lake Oswego, Oregon 97034 on April 14th from
2-5 PM
